Graphic Design Intern at ICON Worldwide in Switzerland

Internship: in Switzerland for 12 weeks
Rate: Airfare, Housing and Per Diem
Position: Graphic Designer (both print and web)
Location: Switzerland
Start Date: March 2009

Responsibility

  • Compose layouts for 4+ color ads, brochures, collateral materials, etc.
  • Create chart work, line art, etc.
  • Manipulate photographs for basic comp work such as scanning, silhouetting and re-touching
  • Prepare all digital files for pre-press
  • Front-end web design and development, including mastery of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (working knowledge of PHP a plus)
  • Experience with the WordPress CMS

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • Excellent graphic skills
  • STRONG typography, layout skills and color theory
  • Knowledgeable about 2c & 4c print production, pre press and press checks
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of current design trends and techniques
  • Color correction and retouching experience; Photography skills a plus
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe CS Suite (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)

  • Must be detail-oriented, hard-worker and creative
  • Must have ability to multitask; high level of attention to detail
  • Self disciplined, able to take instructions well, adapt to new priorities and meet tight deadlines whilst remaining thorough and focussed on delivering high quality results
